FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Whatever your space and task; with clear consultation, scope and boundaries set, we can get the job done for you fuss free.

Short answer no. We’re here to work with you not to force you to throw things out. Let us guide you through a decision-making process to work out what is right for you. Together we’ll look at what stuff is managed and what stuff is controlling you. We’re here to empower you, whatever that means for you, maybe you want new strategies, may be you just want your time back we can offer all this and more.

When you leave it to us, we get to work, you can find what you need, create space, enjoy your ‘stuff,’ and regain your time.  You’ll find we can save you masses of time and frustration that is an investment that we’ve found our customers have been exceptionally happy with.

It is your preference whether you choose to clean or tidy your home before we arrive. You are not required to however. You may opt to use us for cleaning, decluttering and professional organising services or to do the cleaning yourself.

General Tidying –

General tidying can make the job quicker so if this is important to you, you may choose to do this or have us do this as part of your package.

Safety –

We only ask that you make your home safe prior to our arrival and advise us of anything that may be an issue. This could mean putting a dog outside or letting us know about safety issues from persons, pets, items, collections of clutter or stuff and so on. If unsure just ask.

For exceptional circumstances where you may be struggling with levels of hoarding or squalor we can support you with managing this. Please be aware that it may be necessary in some cases for us to notify authorities to manage safety aspects for yourself or your family, as mandated notifiers. Having a management plan with Professional Organisers can be a strong support in your corner to help you negotiate your circumstances with authorities and get in to a better place.

We are here to listen, not to judge. Judgement is not helpful and does not help move us on to a new point.

Our response is tailored to what you need, whether you’re seeking personal, family or community support or whether you’re a professional organisation outsourcing supports for a third party.

We’ll consult with you to determine what’s best for your scope and budget to achieve the result you’re after. Initial consults are free and we can provide a full quote on seeing and consulting your job requirements. Using Professional Organisers will save you a mass of time, money and frustration in the long run than going it alone but be assured we can work to a pace to suit you.

We keep records to keep track of agreed items and our conversations and logistical information to complete jobs for you. Records are kept confidentially. Records are non-judgemental and can be viewed by you or a person nominated by you upon request. A cost may be incurred where we incur costs, we will always endeavour to not charge or to keep costs at a minimum.

Sandra is a certified member of the AASW, the Australian Association of Social Workers. Where necessary we consult with additional Professionals to support your needs.

By negotiation we can sell certain items, costs will be based on consignment and negotiated at your request.

Where possible we can also share items with your preferred organisations, groups or charities. We do this so that what we move can add value and not become a wasted resource. This is a more time consuming and sometimes expensive exercise but we are committed and passionate about adding value and acting ethically with integrity.

With our links and knowledge we will always source the most ethical solutions to ensure resource recovery as far as we practically can. We are committed to the environment, to our communities, save and share resources far and wide.

We negotiate with you if you want clutter removed and how you would like us to manage this clutter. We will manage your requests as close as practicable. We are not always able to meet all requests.

You decide how or if you’d like items to be cleared or removed. Removal of items can incur additional costs this will always be negotiated with you first.

You can be assured your privacy will be respected and your confidentiality maintained.

If you’re happy for us to take photos we will use these to track progress and for you to feel the reward of your progress. We do not use photos in any purpose not agreed upon by you. Unlike other groups we will not advertise photos against other images or content to create misleading information.

We prefer to have 24-48 hours notice of cancellations but we are realists and understand life can get in the way and this may not always be possible. In exceptional circumstances for some jobs a deposit may be required. The deposit may be retained by Declutter Deliberately in cases where deemed necessary.

We are not currently NDIS providers although we will be looking in to this in the future.

We’d hate for you to not feel really happy with the job we’ve done, but if that happens we’d love to hear from you. We’ll listen to your complaints and take on board any constructive criticism to improve our processes and to see how we might rectify or improve things for you.
